Obstacles

An obstacle can be defined as a thing that blocks one's way or prevents or hinders progress.

Opportunities

An opportunity is defined as a set of circumstances that make it possible to do something.

The Subconscious Determination

It goes without saying that the last year and a half has presented its fair share of obstacles for many of us, but not all of us...  So what makes something an "obstacle" for some, and an opportunity for others?

Perspective.

Subconsciously, we tend to abide by what our brain has evaluated as one thing over the other, but there is actually nothing more than that evaluation (and our going along with it) that keeps us thinking in that way.

The Power to Choose

As the adage states "We can't always control the circumstances of our situations, but we can control how we react to the situations we find ourselves in".

This means that [we] have control of whether we choose to see something as an obstacle, or an opportunity.  Choose the opportunity.

As I write the words above, I do so to serve as much as a reminder to myself, as to the countless others I hope will benefit from them.  It's too easy to give in to what our brains first perceives as difficult.

With some conscious awareness and effort, what was once appeared as the block will soon become the benefit.  This is my reminder.  And hopefully, it is yours too.

Thank you for reading and make it a great week!
